One of the tastiest dishes in Armenian cuisine is Dolma (Tolma). The origin of the word “Tolma” comes from the word “toli” which in old Armenian means grapevine or Uduli. The “Dolma Festival” was launched in Armenia since 2011. Nowadays, there are many different methods and recipes of making Armenian Dolma, however firstly the dish was made of battered meat and grapevine.
The main purpose of the “Dolma Festival” is to collect forgotten or rarely used recipes of “Dolma” and to raise awareness about Armenian cuisine for foreigners. The record-breaking length of dolma was made in 2017, which was 60m 44sm. This festival is a great opportunity for Armenia to develop gastro tourism. Everything will be accompanied by Armenian folk dances and music.
